// Find out what you can do before we arrive

PREPARING FOR OUR VISIT

The most important thing that you can do, is FIX ANY LEAKING FAUCETS and to make sure that the surfaces to be resurfaced, are as clean as you can get them!

Don't worry about being too aggressive, as we are going to be refinishing them shortly. We will be cleaning the surface as part of our process, however, it is helpful and beneficial, to aggressively clean anything we are going to refinish, before we arrive. Paying particular attention to grout lines, if any are to be refinished. You can be aggressive in your cleaning, as we will be etching the surface later.

Any fixtures (drains, faucets, etc.) that are going to be replaced, should be removed and replaced before we arrive. Have the new fixtures installed! This solves several issues! Feel free to ask about anything specific when you call!

BATHTUBS/SINKS/SHOWERS/VANITY TOPS

Give a good cleaning. Best to use a soap film remover and a Scotch-Brite pad. Repair leaky faucet (if applicable). Install new drain and/or overflow/cleanout, BEFORE we arrive! Remove all items that are out in the open in bathroom. (Example: shampoo bottles, tooth brushes, glasses, hair products) They can be taken out of the bathroom or placed in drawer or cabinet. Remove anything that you will need for the day from cabinets.

KITCHEN COUNTERTOPS

Give good cleaning. Best to use a liquid dish soap with a degreaser or multi-purpose cleaner like 409 and a Scotch-Brite pad. Remove ALL items from the countertop. You should also take down pictures etc. from the walls. Remove anything that you will need for the day from cabinets. Turn off gas to stove if pilot light is always on (if stove is not self-igniting) and remove stove from kitchen before you arrive.

TILE

Give good cleaning paying extra attention to the grout lines. Best to use a good multi-purpose cleaner like 409 and a Scotch-Brite pad. It is best if you remove at least the toilet tank if we are to resurface the tile behind of the toilet, but we prefer that you remove the entire toilet, before we arrive. Make sure to repair any loose tiles a couple days before we arrive. If you have to replace a tile, the color of that tile isn't important as we are going to refinish over it anyways.

Be sure that the grout is in good repair. We have a suggestion or two on how to manage small areas of missing grout after we refinish, but for the most part, the grout should be repaired at least 3 days before we arrive. Remove all items that are out in the open in bathroom. (Example: shampoo bottles, tooth brushes, glasses, hair products) They can be taken out of the bathroom or placed in drawer or cabinet. You should also take down pictures etc. from the walls. Remove anything that you will need for the day from cabinets. Repair any loose tiles, etc. (if applicable).
