A brief history of The Tub Guys, and how we came to be...
My name is Shane and I began refinishing in 1992, primarily doing refinishing prep work, while in highschool. I went to college after graduation, to study Aviation Electrics, with an emphasis in Statical Process Control and then traveled the world, in pursuit my chosen career. It was an interesting road, but in the end, I found myself back where I started, and with the perspective I gained, realized that I enjoy being a business owner, more than being an employee!
So, Jan 1st of 2005, I began the arduous process, of learning what it is to be a business owner, and what it takes to make that successful. In all honesty, I really didn't expect it to be a success? The greatest teacher, is open and honest eyed failure. I expected to have to reinvent the business, a few times, learning from my miss judgments and ill-guided assumptions... Well, we persevered, through three substantial business and life challenges, but in the end, struggling through taught me more than I could have ever guessed!
Now, here I am, 21 May 2022, 17+ years after I officially opened the company, having completed approximately 12,000 tubs, for something like 10,000 customers. With clear eyes and a full heart, we endeavor everyday, to provide a quality balance of durability and beautiful. There are many nuances, to our long journey, but in the end, a person finds pride from the things they choose! Me and the staff, choose to be proud of providing an economical and timely alternative, to removing and replacing bathtubs!
