Q & A
The Tub Guy's process for the resurfacing/recoloring of bathtubs
and/or sinks is a very cost effective alternative to replacement.
The National Remodelers Association estimates that the average
cost of replacing a bathtub is $2,500-$3,000. Even if you do
pay the money to replace the old bathtub or sink with new fixtures,
the chances are pretty good that the new tub or sink is not going
to be as deep or of the same quality as the old fixture. So,
why pay more to get a lesser product?
WHY SHOULD YOU REFINISH YOUR BATHTUB?
The majority of our customers resurface their bathtubs because
their tub has lost the original finish. The result is a bathtub
that has become dull and difficult to keep clean. Frequently,
customers resurface their bathtubs to change or update the color.
The reason for this is that, over the years, all of the cleaning,
hard water, and use has worn away the original finish and the
tub has lost its luster. Dirt, grime, and hard water stains stick
to that lackluster finish far better than a new or refinished
tub. This result is the necessary use of abrasive cleaners and
a lot of scrubbing to get the tub clean. As you may already know,
this only wears away the finish further.
Porcelite is, basically, a series of coatings and steps that
results in the application of a new refinished coat to your bathtub.
The new refinish coat is applied as a liquid, so the tub is non-porous
when the process is finished. The result is a beautiful bathtub
that looks better, lasts longer, and cleans much easier. |
